Opera Industry Professional Development Residencies
Preparing Artists for the Business of a Sustainable Career
A successful career in opera requires far more than artistic excellence. Today’s singers must understand how the industry works, build meaningful professional relationships, advocate for themselves, understand contracts and compensation, communicate their value, and develop a professional identity that reflects both who they are and where they want to go.
CODA Artist Advocacy provides practical, industry-focused instruction designed to prepare emerging artists for the realities of a career in opera and the performing arts. Drawing on decades of experience in artist management, producing, education, and the professional opera industry, CODA offers intensive 3–5 day residencies designed to give emerging artists the tools, perspective, and confidence to navigate the business of an artistic career.
The goal is not simply to teach artists how to get a job, but to help them understand how to build a career.
These tools give artists a clearer understanding of the landscape they are entering—and the confidence to take an active role in shaping their own future.
Each residency can be customized to the needs of the host organization. Explore below .......
